Weapons! To battle ... or not to battle?

We are considering developing an exhibition around the topic of weapons using some of our amazing cultural collections. We'd like to hear your thoughts. What would you like to see in an exhibition about weapons and weaponry?

On the right-hand side are a selection of objects around the theme of weapons. What questions pop inot your head about these items? What do you think about weapons? What would you like to see in an exhibition about weapons and weaponry?

We also asked a small group of visitors to the Museum about this topic. Go here to read what they said.

We look forward to your comments!

Weaponry is an appropriate subject for an exhibition as it is a focused way of examining the technology and following the evolution of technology within a particular culture or region. This could include include improvements in metallurgy, changes in decorative arts and if armour is included, leatherworking and textile technology.

I would love to see an exhibition on weaponry. I have toured many museums in Europe and for the purpose of seeing the collections. Even from the publicity side, this should be a no-brainer as it would appeal to any male who has an interest in the antiquities and any make child...simply because they like weaponry. An exhibit of this nature would encourage my friends and I to go to the museum.
