Connect with nature and get creative as accomplished Maori contemporary artist and weaver, Alice Spittle, teaches you the traditional techniques of raranga (weaving) with New Zealand harakeke (flax) and create your own take-home woven basket. During this workshop Alice will discuss with you the processes, traditions, tikanga (protocols) around weaving as well as how to nurture the plant and how to harvest sustainably.

Whether you are a beginner or have weaving experience, this day of weaving in a nurturing environment suits all ability levels.

Workshop includes 1 hour break for a guided tour of Whales | Tohora and lunch. Bring your own lunch, or purchase from No. 1 William on Level 4.
