The Australian Museum inspires discovery, understanding and care for our world by exploring the relationship between people, culture and the natural environment.

This year in Terms 1 and 2, Mini Explorers (for kids 3 to 5) and Tiny Tots (kids 0 to 3) will be led by Aboriginal educators.

In the Mini Explorers program, known as Guwal Gili in the local language, we will play, learn and create in our Jarjums room. We will go on exciting adventures through Museum exhibitions and have the opportunity to contribute to a collective work such as shell artworks.

Mini Explorers: Guwal Gili is held in an exclusive space and numbers are limited to 15 children per session. There's something new every month, so join us as many times as you like!

Upcoming themes

February - Megafauna
We may not have been around as long as dinosaurs, but Aboriginal people have lived alongside some of our biggest and oldest animals - Megafauna!

March - Weaving (Gadi Festival)
Welcome to Gadigal Country! We will be learning about Gadigal people, history, culture and the Country we live on.

April - Food for Thought
Touch, smell, feel and taste some of the unique plants people have used since the first sunrise!

May - Our Arts
We will be singing, dancing, weaving and painting our way through May and Reconciliation Week.

June - Fun and Games
Through games, dance and stories we will learn how to hunt, about our lore, and the Dreaming.
